Leaked Lists of Upcoming Legends Series Figures

Image
Hi all, so you may have seen via various social media channels there have been some leaked lists of upcoming figures from Mattel, mainly in my favourite line, the Legends. Of course, until Mattel reveal these themselves I can’t 100% say they are genuine but here goes on what has been leaked so far. There have been 4 series of Legends leaked, series 12 will apparently see Billy Gunn his DX Army gear of course based on the DX invasion of the Norfolk Scope back in the Monday Night Wars time. As you can see, there is an image, some think it’s not actually real, I’m 50/50 to be honest but I’ll let you be the judge for yourself. We have had two Elite Billy Gunn’s in the past, I have the first from the core Elite line but don’t have the second from the Hall of Champions line. Also rumoured to be in series 12 are Junkyard Dog, we’ve had one previous JYD Elite in a n early Elite line, good figure in white trunks that comes with a chain, I hope and think it very well may be in red trunks when th...

My Top 5 Bret 'Hitman' Hart Figures

Image
Earlier on today I watched a video on YouTube by Kyle Peterson, check his channel out and subscribe, always great content, and the latest video was on his top 5 Bret 'Hitman' Hart figures, I won't go into his choices as hopefully you'll check his video out but what I'll do here is list my own.   Bret has always been a favourite of mine, big fan of his no nonsense style of wrestling and over the years, he has had some excellent action figures. When I got into wrestling Hasbro had been releasing WWF action figures for a few months and I did have at least one Bret figure from them along with many other of their WWF figures. From there, JAKKS got the licence to make WWF figures. They did a series called 'Bone Crunchers' but I didn't have many of these and the ones I did have didn't involve Bret. JAKKS would go on to release what they called the 'Classic Superstars' range which, as it sounds, was a great line covering wrestlers, managers and annou...

Montreal, November 1997, Screwjob or Not?

Image
Hey all, it's been a while since I have blogged, I have been in the wars so to speak, been off work for a month with back/leg issues, still not resolved but I am back at work now. I arrived back to a lot of figures which you would have seen if you follow me on social media, find the links at the end. So, I am not going to write about figures today but something I like talking about with anyone that is also interested and that is the Montreal 'Screwjob'. I was watching the A&E documentary on Bret 'Hitman' Hart and of course, this was going to be spoken about. I tweeted out when watching it about how I don't think there was a screwjob and I got a response by a guy I have known for many years saying "don't be that guy". I told him, it's my opinion, we all have them. So, I know there will be many of you reading this that will think I am being ridiculous, and would say if it had been, for lack of a better term, a work then it would have come out...

Random Stuff

First blog in a while guys, I hope you are all keeping well. I know lockdown restrictions are slowly being lifted but please stay safe, don't be one of those people not wearing face coverings in shops, on public transport or wherever you're supposed to. OK, so I wasn't sure what to cover so I am going to just talk about a few things.  Most of you know, the Mattel Elites are my thing, that is the line I focus on more, especially lately I try and get hold of harder to find figures and now we have a more figure lines coming out, of course there is AEW, Super 7 and Boss Fight, I mention those as they are more to scale with the Mattel ones but there are other ones coming out that match up with the old Hasbros and the Mattel Retro figures. I started collecting the AEW figures and if you follow me on social media, you may know I decided to knock them on the head as I didn't want to go down that road. Unlike a lot of collectors, I don't have a separate room to display my co...

Mattel/WWE New Figure Reveals

Image
So, you know what this is, let's have a look at the reveals from WWE/Mattel yesterday over at the WWE's website. There were loads of images shown and you know me, I am into the Elites and Ultimate Editions but there just won't be enough space to show them all here so I will add the best bits, best that are in my opinion of course. They had some WWE/Masters of the Universe figures to show first, not a line I am remotely interested in. Before I was into wrestling, in fact, way before, I was into wrestling I collected MOTU figures as a kid, recall pestering my mom to get me Trap Jaw. Any readers collect these crossover figures? Basic Championship Showdown packs up next, another line I don't collect. They showed a Mankind/Austin set followed by Big Boss Man/British Bulldog in jeans and then Trish Stratus/Chyna. More basics up next, Summer Slam basics, Roman Reigns, Bayley, Kane, Silver Surfer Rey Mysterio, Apollo Crews, Jake Atlas who is also the chase in the line and then ...

What Are YOUR Favourite Austin/Jericho Figures?

Image
With the upcoming Broken Skull Sessions interview between Steve Austin & Chris Jericho airing on the WWE Network/Peacock, it got me thinking, what are the best figures of each guy?  I was listening to the Pyramid Wrestling podcast before writing this and they were talking about the upcoming interview and that gave me the idea to write this piece and then the guys had their own discussion of both guys and their thoughts/memories on figures as it is a wrestling figure podcast, a very good one indeed so give them a listen, find them in the usual podcast places. I am more concerned with their Mattel figures, but both had a number of JAKKS ones too and Jericho had maybe at least a couple before that while in WCW, yes, I had the infamous 'Lion Tamer' one which you can see pictured above.  Let's go with Austin first, there's not too much you can do with Austin figures because he just wears the black trunks and boots but still, he's had a few variations, like the Mattel...
