More Reveals From Mattel: Hogan's Beach Shop, November 2022

Image
All pictures are from Ringside Collectibles It only seems like I was here the other day, oh yes, I was. So, the reveals keep on coming, some figures we knew were coming and some that were a bit of a surprise, so where do we start, I know, Elite 100. These are ones we did know about but we have images of the actual figures, there are some grumblings about the choices for this series with it being such a milestone one. this is always going to be the case, there's always series where you think, well I'll buy that but leave that, unless you are completionist like good brother Kyle, if you haven't yet, give his channel a look, he has many wrestling figure related videos a long with videos on other toy lines too. Elite 100 'Stunning' Steve Austin So, Elite 100, comes in firing with a 'Stunning' Steve Austin, this was the character where the older fans amongst us, myself included, first saw the future 'Stone Cold'. He comes with a po...

Still here, so, more ramblings

Image
After writing the last blog where I said I would be selling up I have still not made a move to do so, I know it needs to happen but I am STILL buying new stuff, serious issues here guys. So, no one off topic to write about today I just thought I'd write about a few things in the wrestling figure world at the moment. First off, people on both sides of the pond are receiving their New Generation rings from Mattel Creations. I am yet to receive mine but I believe it is in the country and I am waiting for a letter off Royal Mail to pay my customs charge. This charge is ridiculous, I am reading the charge for those here in the UK is about £63 and with this on top of what has already been paid over a year ago makes it very expensive. Some people are saying it's understandable as the value of the item is so high, this maybe true but doesn't help the bank account does it?  I have no space to set up rings and I knew this when I purchased it but, I did want the figures that come with...

New Ringside Fest Figure Reveals (28/10/2021

Image
We have all been waiting for it and it finally arrived, the autumn Ringside Fest WWE/Mattel figure reveals. These are not in order to how they were announced but anyway, let's get on with it. First off, Ultimate Editions, there had been some rumours about upcoming releases and it was confirmed about some of those rumours, we will be getting a third Ultimate Edition Hulk Hogan following on from the Hollywood Hogan and the Amazon Exclusive Fan Takeover Wrestle Mania IX one, many people will probably have this new one before getting their hands on the WM IX one, been a right, mess up on that, I, myself have had to resort to seeking one out on the secondary market. Anyway, this new reveal will be a Hogan based on his 1985 Wrestle Mania I look and you can see pictures of the colour renderings here but will actually come with more accesories, well, at least a entrance vest. And at WM I, Hogan teamed with Mr. T and yes, he is coming too in Ultimate Edition style. I believe he will have hi...

My Top 5 Hulk Hogan Mattel Elite/Ultimate Edition Style Figures

Image
Welcome back everyone, hope you have all been well.   As you can see by the title, I am doing my top 5 Mattel Hulk Hogan list today. Inspired by Kyle Peterson's recent Top 10 overall Hulk Hogan figures list (find it on YouTube) I thought I would do this list. As you will know, I always do top 5's, I would do a top 10 but he hasn't had enough Elite style ones. I will also include his first Ultimate Edition too, as it stands, no one has his second Ultimate Edition and I don't have the recent Elite that came out in the Survivor Series line, I will pick it up despite the weird scan (much like the Bret Hart one in the same series). I will say, sorry for the spoilers if you have not watched it yet, Kyle had in his top 10 the original Storm Collectibles Hollywood Hogan which I do have and displayed with my Elite figures, but my list as previously stated, will be just Elite figures. So, onto my top 5 list. From what I could see, and I should know because I have them all, the ne...

WWE/Mattel Ultimate Editions - A Follow Up

Image
I have written previously about the Ultimate Edition figures; you can find that piece HERE but with new ones being released since I wrote that and images of future ones hitting the interwebs, I thought I'd do another piece. The Ultimate Edition line is a great line from Mattel, many had reservations due to the higher price point and figure wise the change in the bodies from the Elite look however, overall, the figures are amazing and there are still people trying to get hold of the older ones. As a prominent Youtuber said, people are collecting a loose and MOC figure of each released thinking they may go the way of the Defining Moment line which even though some have been in clearance sections in their times, are very sought after. Of course, I like doing Top 5 lists, mainly of one particular wrestler in Elite form plus Ultimate Edition form if said wrestler has had one. The last 2 lists I compiled (Ric Flair/Ultimate Warrior) both featured their UE figures. The Ultimate Edition fi...

Mattel Elite/Ultimate Edition Ric Flair Figures - An Overview

Image
I am a big fan of the figures in this style released so far. I am writing this just a few days after receiving the latest Flair figure, the Ultimate Edition one. I hadn't looked this forward to receiving a figure for a long time. We will get onto that later.   So, I am going off memory here, the first Elite style Ric Flair figure released by Mattel was the Defining Moments one that saw Flair come with the infamous 'Butterfly' black & white robe based on his WWF debut on All American Wrestling way back in 1991. I had a version of this figure when I collected JAKKS figure, I believe it was an RSC exclusive but could be wrong. I really wanted that one at the time and of course, really wanted this Mattel version of it. It comes with the 'Big Gold' belt, could be the first time in the line for Mattel figures. I like to go off on sidebars on these blogs, Flair actually didn't arrive with the belt, he had shipped it to Vince McMahon some weeks before ...
