The Entrance Greats

Image
Hi all, seems like a long while since I wrote something on the blog when in fact it's only been a few days. Anyway, today I want to write about the Entrance Greats, the first run was before I was collecting Mattel figures, so they had been and gone before I started to collect and to be honest, despite most of them looking great, the fact they were basic figures takes the shine off a little and they are not figures I have tried to track down. So, they were released in series, the first featuring Triple H, Rey Mysterio & Shawn Michaels. Triple H was based on his look from Wrestle Mania 22 where he faced John Cena, Triple H in this one, as you can see by the image had somewhat of a Conan The Barbarian look. It looks pretty decent and like many in the original run of Entrance Greats, would've been great as an Elite, I am sure, like with many in the line, people have taken the entrance gear and added it to a future Elite figure. Next up was Rey Mysterio, also based on his look f

Target (Argos in the UK) NXT Exclusives

Welcome all, I hope you're all well. The grind continues, today i'll be taking a look at the NXT series of figures that were exclusive to Target in the US but in the UK surprisngly they were available in Argos, it's a shame they didn't do that with other US exclusives because if they had of, we'd have saved a pretty penny over the years. So, the first series consisted of 4 figures, I own 2 of the 4, still want No Way Jose, passed on him so many times but wish I hadn't. The other one I don't have is Bayley and I guess, unless this is the first time you have read one of my blogs, you'll know I don't collect female figures (money and space to display them is the reason).  Now onto the ones I do have, first there was a Seth Rollins (Left) as a big fan of the indies I was a fan of Rollins under his former guise of Tyler Black but never really saw him in NXT, yes, I don't watch the WWE product, haven't since 2002 really, caught the odd bit here and

Ringside Collectibles Exclusives (WWE/Mattel) Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of my look at RSC exclusive figures, I hope you have read part one, if however you missed it, you can find it HERE So we're now in 2017 and I'll start off with a challenging one. I say challenging because I was always led to believe this figure was actually a Gamestop exclusive but various people have said to me over the last couple of the years when I have been trying to complete a checklist of RSC exclusive figures that the 'You Made the List' Chris Jericho (Left) is actually a RSC exclusive. TBH, I don't worry about that anymore, I have the figure actually ordered direct from them as it's such a great looking figure it really is. Some time later they released a version of it in the normal Elite line but the scan of that one was NOWHERE near the one on the one you can see pictured here, which is outstanding. Next up we have the first non painted Finn Balor figure. I was chuffed to say the least when the first Demon figure came out and when th

Ringside Collectibles Exclusives (Mattel/WWE) Part 1

Welcome back all, I've been ill this week so that's why there's been a bit of a delay on the blog front but today I am back with a look at a series of figures I am very much into, a line I have yet to complete but not far off, yes, today, I'll look at the Ringside Collectables exclusive figures. So back in 2010, Mattel started to release figures of WWE wrestlers and Legends. And Ringside Collectables (RSC) have worked with WWE for years and this led to them being able to get certain figures that you could only purchase (initially at least) through their website. For the MOC collectors these figures stood out more as they have that little sticker on the box that stated they were exclusive to RSC. I as a loose collector of course am not too worried about this but many, not all, of the figures in the RSC exclusive line are great. So, let's get cracking. The first one released was a Ringside Fest exclusive first, Rey Mysterio which is billed as Rey Mysterio Flash as the

Mattel WWE Hall of Fame Figures

Hello all, another week, another blog. First off, thanks to those who have been in touch telling me how you are liking the blogs, it's really appreciated but please, keep the feedback coming, I need to know what you think I need to improve on etc. Also, if there is anything figure related you want me to write about, let me know. So, we are in Wrestle Mania season and we all know, the night before WM is the Hall of Fame, so today I will take a look at the Hall of Fame figures released by Mattel. By the time I had started collecting Mattel figures the HOF figures were well established so I was playing catch up, had to see what was out and what I could get my hands on for a reasonable price. I have to be honest, I can't recall in what order I got the HOF figures I have so let's just have a run through them in the order they came out. Series 1 was a set of 4 figures, I have 3 or 2 out of the 4 depending on how you look at it, I'll explain. So, in the series we had a 'St
