Various News/opinions

This week Mattel Creations put up for sale the new Legends of the Territory Era 4 pack. This features 'Superstar' Billy Graham, 'Handsome' Harley Race. Muhammad Ali and Gorilla Monsoon. We have an influx in different lines, of Ali in recent months, I guess this is for them to get out as many as they can before the deal WWE/Mattel have with his estate expires but, although, people could be purchasing these for various reasons, the first time in the line belts, which are the WWWF belt with Graham and the NWA 'dome' title with Race or Graham/Race in those attires, some may even want Monsoon in wrestling gear as his only previous figure from Mattel was in his announcer attire, a very nice, sought after figure but I am guessing, there's not many who have bought this set thinking the Ali is a 'must have', if I am wrong, let me know. When i first saw the set I was thinking I would keep Race/Graham with the belts and sell the other two, now, I may keep the M

More re-releases on the horizon

Even more re-releases coming. During the great interview by Justin of  wrestlingfigurenews.com with  Steve Ozer, Mattel's action figure marketing manager it was mentioned there would be a best of series in the  Monday Night  Wars line now, this won't be a selection of figures that have come out already/will be coming out, these are figures that have been out over the years in the Mattel line that are from the time of the  Monday Night  Wars. You may recall, we had a 'Best of Attitude Era' series some years back, in that series was Chris Jericho (who was the only one in wrestling attire from the 4), 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, The Rock & Triple H. The Rock has already been re released in the 'Greatest Hits' line and Steve announced that in this upcoming wave, this 'best of MNW' set one of the figures will be the Triple H from that 'Attitude Era' set which you can see here.  Steve basically said it will just be a case of updated articula

Mattel Ruthless Aggression Top 5

Image
He we are again guys, another Top 5 list, you know the drill by now, I only include figures I have in my collection. There were 18  overall in this set, I have 8 of them. Was an interesting concept when they were originally announced, I wasn't too sure what could possibly feature as I had zoned out of the WWE around the time of the Ruthless Aggression era, I did see bits here and there but I can't say I am a fountain of knowledge of the RA era. As an avid collector of JAKKS prior to Mattel I collected many RA figures and some did get a release in Mattel form with this Best of Ruthless Aggression series. So, from the 6 I have, here is my Top 5 -  5. Booker T So when the nWo came to the WWE in early 2002 it was Hogan, Hall & Nash, eventually, others would join and there was a stint where Booker T 'was a member' and this figure is based on that, he has the nWo tights underneath the removeable bottoms. I think it makes it into the list soley because it's quirky bein

Top 5 Amazon Fan Takeover Ultimate Edition Figures

Image
With the recent arrival of a new Amazon Fan Takeover Ultimate Edition and the announcement over Wrestle Mania weekend of the next choices (John Cena/Randy Orton - YAY) I thought I would do a Top 5 list of in my opinion, Amazon Fan Takeover Ultimate Editions. I only put figures in my lists I personally have in my collection and as it stands, I have them all, I think the next one is the one shown last weekend in Philly of Seth Rollins based on his look at Clash At The Castle, the figure looks so toyetic, looking forward to having that one in the collection. Just want to say, I am a bit suspect of these polls to choose the attire for these Fan Takeover figures, I just can't buy that people would pick some of these attires over others, let me know what you think about that along with YOUR top 5 lists. So, onto the list. 5. Triple H Based on his look when he and Michaels revived the DX gimmick in the mid-2000's, in fact when the poll was put up they actually said it was based on Sur

Mattel Creations Recent Reveals

Image
So we had the Mattel Creations reveals yesterday, I didn't see it live and I haven't seen the video since but have seen the screen shots but we'll get to those shortly. Firstly, although we didn't expect to see a prototype of the figure we did expect to see the CM Punk figure based on his return last year to go up for pre-order but it on Thursday I believe it was, they announced they were delaying even putting it up for pre-order to   April 7 th  now I believe. I understand sometimes they delay releasing things due to issues at the factories etc but delaying letting a pre-order go live was a weird one for me especially as we know it's a made-to-order figure, I mean, when we do order it it's going to be quite a while before we see it, could be as much as a year Anyway, regarding that figure, are you thinking of ordering it? At first, when I realised it was an Elite rather than an Ultimate Edition, I thought I wouldn't bother as it was street clothes but then

Top 6 Elite Entrance Greats Figures

Image
Good brother Kyle recently did a video of his top 10 Entrance Greats figures, he covered the original run which were basics and the second run which were Elites. I wasn't collecting the Mattel figures when the first run came out and even though I went back and did collect a lot of figures that had already been released by the time I started collecting Mattel WWE figures I didn't go back and pick up any of the first run ones because they were basics although, some look pretty decent, especially the Roddy Piper but anyway, as you will know, my lists only ever consist of figures I own so I will do a list on all the Elite Entrance Greats figures, there's just the 6 so I will do a Top 6. Edit, I just realised, I had done a blog back in 2021 talking about the Entrance Greats, original run and Elites, this was just a reference piece and not a list of my favourites. You can read that blog HERE if you wish. So, onto my top 6 list . 6. Goldberg - There's nothing too outstanding

International collectors to lose out?

Image
There is still time, it may change but very shortly the Mattel Creations 'Coliseum Collections' Hart Foundation is due to go up for sale on the MC website, however, anyone outside the US, definitely here in the UK anyway, will not be able to order it. We haven't had an issue in the past but this was spotted by someone a few weeks ago and as of typing this, the statement which you can see below is still on their website. We all like to moan but I think international customers do get the short end of the stick. There's plenty of store exclusives that are stores that are only in the US so, if we want them have to pay over the odds to independent sellers as they have to get them imported in.  People buy from the likes of Ringside Collectibles directly and pay a premium on the shipping charges to do so when Mattel creations brought out their exclusives it was great that we could order direct from them for a shipping cost that was quite reasonable but now, well, we, as it sta
