Still here, so, more ramblings

After writing the last blog where I said I would be selling up I have still not made a move to do so, I know it needs to happen but I am STILL buying new stuff, serious issues here guys.

So, no one off topic to write about today I just thought I'd write about a few things in the wrestling figure world at the moment.

First off, people on both sides of the pond are receiving their New Generation rings from Mattel Creations. I am yet to receive mine but I believe it is in the country and I am waiting for a letter off Royal Mail to pay my customs charge. This charge is ridiculous, I am reading the charge for those here in the UK is about £63 and with this on top of what has already been paid over a year ago makes it very expensive. Some people are saying it's understandable as the value of the item is so high, this maybe true but doesn't help the bank account does it?

I have no space to set up rings and I knew this when I purchased it but, I did want the figures that come with it so thought, it may be cheaper to do it this way and move the ring on than try and purchase the figures on the aftermarket. In fact, I would probably keep the entrance way (even though, for reasons I get, doesn't have the actual WWF logo of the time) for figure photography so I literally would be selling just the ring, i hope someone out there will purchase it so I can try and get some money back.

The Macho Man figure that also come with the set will be sent separately, I received an email from Mattel Creations saying it's on back order until September 16th, not quite sure what that means regarding when they will be shipped out, of course, we'll get them after those in the US regardless but I really hope, there's no customs charge with that one too, we can only hope.

Talking of orders, it looks like the Amazon Fan Takeover exclusive Hulk Hogan Ultimate Edition may finally be arriving to me, I have a shipping notification that says it'll be here on September 20th, we shall see. I do already have the figure loose, I bought it MOC to open (as I collect loose) back in about October 2021 so wasn't sure why I went through with still buying the one directly off Amazon as other Ultimate's that were exclusive to Amazon I picked up elsewhere I actually cancelled with them when I got that email many of us have had, the item is delayed, do you still want it?

The Ultimate Edition Goldberg, which I believe is the last UE exclusive from Amazon is supposed to arrive in October, we'll see.

What to talk about now, well, yesterday I put up a tweet saying i couldn't understand why people that had the figures originally, would spend the money on buying the 'Greatest Hits' figures just because of pinless elbows and maybe a better scan. Now, I have to admit, I am not overly impressed that these were coming out anyway because, although I don't buy figures with the thought of selling them to make a profit, even though, as mentioned previously, I was looking at selling up to help put my son through university and some of the harder to find figures may have got me a bit more money but now as the figures may be available for less money (and yes, the independent sellers here in the UK will probably charge double than what they are going for in stores in the US) than what the original releases of the figures would go for but these, as I said, would have pinless joints and maybe, improved scans.

Now, I know there are many that may have lost out on these figures the first time around, I have 5 out the 6 but my Mysterio is missing the rubber vest type thing, so it's great that people will get the chance to add these to their collections if they so wish. The only one I don't have is the Rikishi which originally came out in the Hall of Champions line, I do have the regular Elite Rikishi though.

Back to the original point and tweet about these 'Greatest Hits' figures, although they maybe slightly different, on reflection, I know there are those collectors that just want to be completists, so I guess, I get it.

Luckily it looks to be a once a year deal with the 'Greatest Hits' line, I wonder what they will go with next year, have to say, was surprised on some of the choices for the first wave, what would you like to see in the next which isn't Harley Race or Bret Hart that originally came out in the 'Defining Moments' line?

That's it for today guys, thanks for reading, share where you think people may be interested and you can find links to my social media accounts HERE
