Ranking the WWE Legends figures Part 4

So I have covered the original run of Legends figures, I am not sure how many people are reading them so I could be wasting my time but for now, I will carry on.

So after a long hiatus, the Legends series was brought back by Mattel, I was happy at the time as it was my favourite line but I knew I'd be hit in the pocket big time.

Series 7 was announced and they were Razor Ramon in blue, Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan in a weasel suit, Greg 'The Hammer' Valentine and chase and a different version of Sting as 'The Crow' character. However, before the series hit retail, it was announced Sting was being pulled as his legends deal with WWE had expired, that was a shame because it looked very cool and I imagine one day we will get it when any deal he has with AEW finishes and he comes back under the WWE umbrella.

The Sting we didn’t get

Razor Ramon was a decent figure, the blue attire looked good, I have since swapped the head on mine with one of the spares from the Ultimate Edition one so now it looks better. The Heenan one was a very niche one, we had one previous Elite figure of Heenan where he was in his manager/commentator look, this was in the 'Fan Central' line, good figure. This Legends one in the weasel suit was based on when he would have matches which would end with the suit being put on him, I recall him having these matches with the Ultimate Warrior in about 1988/89.

Knowing we were getting a Greg Valentine figure was great, long overdue, yes, valentine wasn't the most entertaining of figures but getting a figure for the first time and looking as good as it does was great. It came with the shin guard he used to wear, he'd reverse it when he would apply the figure four leglock as a finisher, I recalla feud with 'Rugged' Ronnie Garvin around the time he wore the guard, the chase version just had valentine in a different pair of trunks.

3. Razor Ramon

Series 8 featured characters we had seen before, not just in the Mattel line but in the Legends series, yes, it was a while ago but we had seen them. First, we had the Ultimate Warrior in a suit with a long coat and this look was based on his very last appearance in the WWE when he appeared on Monday Night RAW, shortly after he passed away. We also got a Paul Orndorff, just a repaint basically of his original Legends figure with a different robe. Eddie Guerrero also featured, this was a mid 2000's look for Eddie and the final figure, which was also the chase was Jake Roberts.

Series 9 was an up and down series, it featured Tatanka, Undertaker, Nikolai Volkoff and the 'Million Dollar Man' Ted DiBease, who was the chase)

Tatanka was a bit of a letdown, the gear was different to his previous Elite but the headscan was exactly the same, no work to try and make it look different, I am sure they don't need the talent to have to be scanned to get a better scan. Undertaker was very similar to an Undertaker that had been released, black and purple complete with face mask that he had to wear to protect his orbital bone that had been broken in a match with Mabel back in 1995, I didn't get the previous figure so this was a first in my collection of that look for the Deadman. Volkoff was intersting, unlike Tatanka, they had worked on the face scan, the only downside of this one was for political reasons they couldn't depict the Russian flag (or Soviet Union one as I think it was on the jacket when he wrestled) so along with the American flag it is just a red flag. We hadn't had a Ted DiBease Elite style figure in the line for a long time and that was back in the days when the Hall of Fame series was going so it was great to finally get a new DiBease these ones however were suited figures, not a normal suit but the ones DiBease would wear to the ring. These are very nice figures, the chase took me so long to get hold of but it was worth it, great figure.
