More re-releases on the horizon

Even more re-releases coming. During the great interview by Justin of wrestlingfigurenews.com with Steve Ozer, Mattel's action figure marketing manager it was mentioned there would be a best of series in the Monday Night Wars line now, this won't be a selection of figures that have come out already/will be coming out, these are figures that have been out over the years in the Mattel line that are from the time of the
Monday Night Wars. You may recall, we had a 'Best of Attitude Era' series some years back, in that series was Chris Jericho (who was the only one in wrestling attire from the 4), 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, The Rock & Triple H. The Rock has already been re released in the 'Greatest Hits' line and Steve announced that in this upcoming wave, this 'best of MNW' set one of the figures will be the Triple H from that 'Attitude Era' set which you can see here.

Steve basically said it will just be a case of updated articulation on the arms and that's it.

I don't know about you but even though it gives newer collectors the chance to grab figures from years gone by they missed out on or didn't want to pay the higher prices for, I am getting frustrated with so many re-releases. I'll be surprised if I don't have the original versions of the 4 that are coming out in the wave but we shall see, I wonder if I'll be surprised? The set will also come with the parts to make another BAF and it will be the former Virgil who went by the name of Vincent while a part of the nWo in WCW, we did see this figure in various pictures of the Wrestle Mania weekend, here it is posted here in case you didn't. Steve did say, it's a BAF you could probably already get from other past figures to complete it if you didn't want to buy all 4 of the re releases, I mean, I wouldn't mind the Vincent figure but I'll not be buying them just for that, I think it was the recent Royal Rumble set that had the BAF Virgil in, there's a base already for head/arms/torso. The jeans as you can see, looked to be tucked into the boots, we have had that kind of mould recently, first with the British Bulldog BAF and then the MNW Scott Hall but both were different shades of blue, in the picture, Vincent does look to be wearing black ones but he did at times in WCW wear blue ones too so if you have the BAF Virgil head/arms/torso and the BAF Bulldog legs you'll be on your way, shouldn't be too hard to track down an nWo shirt, I know I have one ready if I can get the other parts, which will not be easy, a quick look on eBay can tell you that.

Back to the case in hand, where do you sit with all these re releases coming out? Do you look at it it's a chance for other collectors, or Mattel run a business and if they have the moulds for these figures then why not and if you are looking forward to see who is in the rest of the set with Triple H, what past Mattel figures are you hoping to see, Steve did say it will be 2 from WWF and 2 from WCW?

I just want to say, it was a good interview by Justin, give it a listen if you have not yet, it's should be on most podcast platforms, I listened on Apple Podcasts, also on YouTube Justin has posted a clip with Steve talking about the set, watch it HERE
