Top 10 Mattel Wrestle Mania Elite Figures

I did a blog on my Top 10 Royal Rumble figures blog (read it HERE) and now, we are into Wrestle Mania season so let's go down this rabbit hole. There are a lot more sets in the WM series so it has taken a bit longer to put together. Some sets had BAF's and where I think suitable have been included.

So, you know my rules, yes, I know, I broke them in my RR list, wasn't intentionally though, yes, I don't include figures I don't actually own in these lists and I don't have any of the most recent set and to be honest, I don't think any of them would make the list. Maybe down the line I can pick up the Pat McAfee one but I'll see.

While doing my preparation I realised there was other WM sets, not in sets of 4 (5 if it has a BAF) like my list will be based on but usually 2's but there was a set of 4 way back that featured a Corporate Kane BAF, the parts came with a John Cena, Bray Wyatt, Undertaker and Daniel Bryan with 2 belts but again, when I set out to do this list, these were not under consideration. Also popping up when researching was the duo of Triple H & Shawn Michaels, the latter based on his attire from the first time he won the WWF title from Bret Hart in sudden death following the 60 min iron Man match at WM 12. Both Hart & Michaels turn up again, Hart from WM X and Michaels from WM XIV, the latter which was re-released in the 'Greatest Hits' series. There was the 'Heritage Series' Kane & Undertaker and Undertaker along with Lesnar featured in another set too.

Well, before I start, there have been some real poor ones in these sets (the ones I am compiling my list from) too, the Cactus Jack one, wow, what a horrible head scan, I have replaced the head on mine with the one that came with the RSC exclusive ECW Cactus. The Edge, that came in another series was terrible on a number of scales, just so bad. The Dusty Rhodes was great for the attire but I just wasn't a fan of the head scan. All of these are pictured below.

There is a BAF in my list but decided against including 3 of them, was going to add Danny Davis as it was the first actual referee (as opposed to a wrestler with a referee's shirt) released in the Mattel line but decided against it.

Right, the list.

10. 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan: As a Hogan figure, this should be higher in the list really, but the head scan is not great, the torso choice isn't the best. If these two things were better, I think it would be way higher in the list, probably as high as second.

09. Kofi Kingston
: I don't have many Kingston figures, just two in fact and trying to compile a list featuring 10 figures from this series I felt the need to put this one in. The Colour scheme of his outfit was pretty cool, good scan too.

08. Triple H
: This also came with a chase in red trunks, the head scan isn't great but overall, the figure is OK, made a change getting a Triple H that wasn't in black trunks.

07. Booker T:
There have been quite a few Booker T figures from Mattel, this isn't what I would say in the top 3 but for these WM figures, it's decent, takes me back to when he first debuted in WWE when he had the shorter locks. his stuff with Austin in the supermarket was great.

06. Brutus Beefcake: Probably not in many people's lists but as it was from Wrestle Mania IX where he teamed with Hulk Hogan to face Money Inc, I thought I'd include it. We of course had the Hogan that went along with it in the Ultimate Edition line as an Amazon exclusive.

05. Paul Ellering BAF
: Yes, this is the only BAF I am including in the list, thought it was very interesting at the time they went with this character. Comes with two heads too, one with hair so you can pair him with the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom if you have them or with the Authors of Pain/Karrion Kross if you use the head with no hair.

04. Shawn Michaels: First of two Michaels figures in the list, this is the one based on his look from WM IX I believe, poor event really, but two figures from the event make this list. real good figure this one.

03. Scott Hall
: based on his look from WM X8 when he faced Austin. Wasn't a great match if I recall correctly but I really like the figure, does suffer with the loose leg syndrome like a few different Hall/Ramon figures do but hey.

02. Shawn Michaels: This is the one based on his retirement match from WM 26, always a debate whether that was better than the one he and Undertaker had the year prior (we got a figure of that one in the Defining Moments series) I didn't watch either of the matches until years after they happened and I'd say the first one was better.

01. The Rock
: There have been many figures of The Rock but this one is my favourite by far I think, I think it was a first time used head scan and it looks the business. I have my displayed with the 'Brahma Bull' belt that came with the Elite series 100 figure.
