The Top 3 Ultimate Edition Figures (in my opinion) coming in 2024
Hi all, welcome back, or if it's your first time here, welcome, please come back again and for everyone reading, please share this blog with your wrestling figure collecting friends, that would be amazing.
So, as you can see by the title, I am going to take a look at the Ultimate Edition figures we know that are coming out in 2024 and give you say a list of 3 that I am looking forward to the most, of course, as ever, I want you guys to let me know which ones you are looking forward to either in the comment sections here, on twitter (X) or facebook if you have seen this on one of the few pages where I will post it. links to all my social media pages can be found HERE.
I got the idea for this one from good brother Steve over at the facebook page he runs - Wrestling Toys Gaming United, if you're on FB join the group, loads of good people on there.
First off, I am surprised we haven't had a pre order go up for the next Coliseum Collection figures yet which are George 'The Animal' Steele and 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper. It's been a while now since we have been shown them so can't see us getting them this year with them not being made available to order yet but when I first saw the Piper I was all in, looked great but we have since been shown another Piper and that tops it, I will want both of course.
Coliseum Collection Wave 3 |
Let's start off with Coliseum Collection figures, after Steele/Piper we are due to get The Hart Foundation, these will come with the WWF tag team titles we know that were used basically through the mid to late 80's and into the 90's but they will also come with tag title belts from the early 80's that resemble ones that came with the LJN figures back then. If I have any gripes with these figures it's the fact that they look just like the Elite figures of the Harts that came out way back when, during the 80's the Hart's had a few different looks, would've been great if Mattel via the design team, went for a different attire but I get it if they are recreating the LJN figures in Ultimate Edition style, and tbh, as you will see further down, I can't be too harsh on them looking similar to previous figures.
We are getting an Ultimate Warrior based on his infamous appearance at Summer Slam 91, that night he teamed with Hulk Hogan to take on Sgt. Slaughter, Col. Mustafa (Iron Sheik) & Gen. Adnan and the match was officiated by Sid Justice (Vicious) make his WWF debut. I said infamous due to the fact, well, as the story goes, Warrior "held up" Vince McMahon for more money before going out, as it was a PPV and a huge MSG crowd, McMahon buckled but basically fired Warrior and at the end of the match (sorry if you haven't seen it) Warrior chased one for the villains to the back and that was the last he was seen in the WWF until the following years Wrestle Mania. This is one I am really looking forward to getting, like my Ultimate Warrior figures, have all the Elites/UE's of him that have been released so are (except the recent Greatest Hits one as I have it from the first time it came out, do want the belt though).
Just recently at the Ringside Fest reveals we saw that there will be a two pack of The Outsiders, Scott Hall & Kevin Nash. The picture is here and we have had Elites based on the attire the guys are wearing for these upcoming UE's however, the Nash was very hard to obtain, still is really, I mean more may come on the market now as these UE's are coming out (many did that with the Defining Moments Randy Savage (WM VII) but then regretted it when the UE version was cancelled, at least for now. The bonus with these, like other UE's, they will come with extra heads and I have said on twitter, 100% I will be using two of the spare heads from the Nash for my Elite 16 one and either my Nitro Notables elite or Wolfpac RSC exclusive one and I will no doubt utilise the spare Hall heads as I did with the ones I got with the Razor Ramon UE figures. These really are in my Top 3 of UE's I am looking forward to that we know are coming out.
The figure I mean is one I eluded to earlier, it's Roddy Piper from his days in WCW, as you can see by the picture, it looks outstanding, again, it's going to be a store exclusive over in the states so if I can get it I'll be paying over the odds but I have to get it, it looks so good.
All the best, Stu
