Jake 'The Snake' Roberts Mattel Elite Figures
Hello all, on previous blogs I have written about how Mattel have released Jake 'The Snake' Roberts figures, not once but twice in the Legends line since they brought it back, and that meant 4 figures, yes, Jake had numerous attires throughout his career so you can sort of see why they chose to release multiple Roberts figures.
On this blog I will talk about the ones throughout their licence they have released in Elite form of Jake.
The first one was in the original Legends run, in fact it was Legends
series 2, as you can see by the picture, it literally was fire, a
brilliant figure.
The next release I believe was in the All-Stars range which saw Jake come in a 2 pack along with Randy Orton.
When the Flashback line was going, we got a different type of Roberts,
it was based on his look from King Of The Ring 96 when he faced Steve
Austin, you know, the famous "Austin 3:16" speech. A very different Jake
from what we had had and what we would go on
to have.
The Hall of fame series was a decent series in itself, also featured a Robert's figure which I am a big fan of.
So, there was a bit of a break until we go more Roberts figures in the
line. As the original run of Legends figures ended at series 6 there was
quite a long gap before they brought them back, didn't get off to a
great start tbh, they had a set of 4 scheduled
which included a 'Crow' Sting (different to his previous one released
in the Defining Moments line) but prior to the figure being available,
Sting's legends contract expired and he subsequently cut ties, at least
for now, with the WWE and Mattel can only produce
figures of past stars if they have a legends contract. Maybe one day
when Sting is done with AEW he'll be back in the WWE/Mattel fold and we
can get that figure. Anyway, back to Roberts. Legends series 8 saw us
get two more Roberts figures. Mattel had started
to offer a Chase figure in the Legends line with series 7 (still need
one myself, Greg Valentine). The Roberts ones had new head scans.
This brings us right up to speed with Legends series 13, again, Roberts
was the choice of Chase figure, and this one was based on his brief time in WCW in 1992, as I mentioned earlier. Again, nice
figures and I am sure they won't be the last figures of Jake we will
get, maybe one day there will be an ultimate edition,
if so, I wonder what attire they will go with, personally, I hope, if
we do get one it's one with the attire based on his match Wrestle Mania
VIII where he faced the Undertaker but lets just see if we get one
first.
Anyway guys, that's it for now, what is your favourite Mattel Roberts
figure and if you don't have all these what one would you like to add to
your collection?
