The Defining Moments Line Part 2

Welcome back guys to my second look at the Defining Moments line, if you didn't read part one, you can see it HERE.

So last time I wrote about the first 8 releases in the line, so let's
continue.

The ninth release in the line saw the first John Cena of the line, decked out in orange in his 'Thuganomics' phase he came with 2 spinner belts, the US championship and the WWE world
championship. While not a Cena fan, the figure does look great on display.

Also released at this time was what is considered many peoples favourite Defining Moment figure, based on his appearance at the In Your House 'Canadian Stampede' PPV from 1997 - Bret 'Hitman' Hart. It's an iconic look for the Hitman at a great time in wrestling as he comes with the shades, leather jacket, WWF title and Canadian flag. It really is a great figure and even if you can't get all the figures from this line, if you get this one, you have a great figure in your collection. Not easy to get and when you can get it it's not cheap.

Next up we had Ric Flair, what an iconic look for the 'Nature Boy' for me, very much a defining moment as it's based on his WWF debut which was on the Prime Time Wrestling show where he was introduced by Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan. Decked out in his black robe with white feathers and the big gold title belt this figure is outstanding. It did get a release in the JAKKS line, but I believe this was the first Flair figure by Mattel of any kind.

That Flair was followed up with another great figure, it was Hulk Hogan with a look I'd say was based on Wrestle Mania III and still to this day, it's the only way to get the belt known as the 'Hogan 87' belt. It truly is an exceptional figure from a major boom time in the WWF.

Following this we had Razor Ramon, decked out in purple with gold chains and with a classic IC title, great looking figure. I can't pinpoint a time that would be defining in this ring gear, I thought it may have been his first IC title win which was a tournament final where he bested Rick 'The Model' Martel but I think he wore green and yellow in that one, if anyone knows if there was any specific match/moment he wore this outfit, please let me know, I know in the Hasbro line there was a Ramon in purple but not sure if that was the reason these colours were chosen for this figure.

Next up was Sting which will always be known as the Crow Sting from his WCW run which saw a year long build up to him facing Hollywood Hogan at Starrcade 97 which saw huge numbers for WCW. This comes with the long soft goods leather coat and a baseball bat.

October 2015 saw the second Undertaker figure released in the line, it's a re-release of sorts of a San Diego Comic Con exclusive figure with some minor changes, I don't have that one only this one so can't say for sure what those changes were. It's from his Ministry run in the WWF and I believe he may have had this look when he faced the Big Boss Man in the Hell In A Cell match at Wrestle Mania XV. Some might say it was lazy on Mattel's part doing a re-release, but I suppose it should be looked upon as a chance for those who couldn't get that SDCC exclusive figure as it wouldn't have come cheap, to pick one up. I know it's a sore point, I may have mentioned it before, with collectors where figures ger a re-release and devalue the original figure. Example, Elite 12 Kane is/was very sought after, went for high prices on the secondary market, I never had that figure but then i think it was in the Hall of Champions line it was released again and then the E12 wasn't as valuable, but it gave myself and I guess countless others, the chance to get that figure, it did have slight variations but all in all, it was the same figure.

The next one released was the second 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin one but this one in wrestling attire. he came with his entrance vest but also 3, yest 3 title belts, the classic winged eagle, the big winged eagle, I think Austin was presented with that for the first time the night after Wrestle Mania XIV as he'd won the winged eagle one the night before from Shawn Michaels and the 3rd belt was his personalised Smoking Skull belt. I remember sometime after they were released, they popped up in The Entertainer here in the UK for a nominal price really and people were scrambling for them, that was where I got mine from, not sure what they go for these days.

OK guys, that's it for part 2 of my look at the Defining Moments line, I'll be back soon with what I think will be the third and final instalment in this series.
