Top 5 Ed Leslie Mattel Elite Figures

Ed Leslie, the man that has rode on the coat tails of Hulk Hogan his whole career.

He has had, with chases, 6 Elite figures from Mattel, I'll do a top 5 and class the chase the same as the regular one in the list.

This is my list, hopefully you'll agree but if not, feel free to let me know your top 5 on social media, for those that don't know mine already, links at the end.

5. Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake (Elite 49)

This was how Leslie looked when I first got into wrestling as the charismatic 'Barber' gimmick. The figure is OK really and may be higher up on other peoples list. Maybe with modern technology the face scan would be better and of course there is the pinless arms and the like that people go on about, not so much a thing for me if I am honest, and even the Elite 16 Diesel that has been rereleased in the Vault/Greatest Hits series or whatever it is has the same head on it as it did when it first came out, I mean they could've at least added the head that came with the Network Spotlight Diesel some years afterwards, hopefully I can pick one up so I can swap the head with a 'fake' Diesel head.

4. Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake (Wrestle Mania Series)

This figure is based on his 1993 run in the WWF following the bad accident he had he returned to wrestling and wore a protective mask and he hooked up with that man Hulk Hogan and at Wrestle Mania IX they teamed up together to face Money Inc (Ted Dibease & IRS). Good figure for what it represents. We eventually got the Hulk Hogan, with black eye, in the Ultimate Edition line some years later.

3. Brutus Beefcake (Legends Series 10)

This figure had a chase too, same figure but with blue and black tights, over the regular version with yellow and black tights which matched the entrance jacket. Big fan of these two figures, come with that silver WWF tag team title too which the belt was in the mid 80's before it became more of a gold colour, great touch that was from Mattel rather than just throwing in a gold one or non at all.

2. Zodiac (Collectors Edition, Elite Series 88)

A real strange character in the career of Leslie but then again, WCW was running with the Dungeon of Doom gimmick, strange cast of characters. Anyway, the figure, not one I expected from WWE/Mattel but great none the less, quite toyetic, shame mine is not on display due to space. Comes with an extra head too for added measure.

1. The Disciple (MNW Wave 3 BAF)

Only had it in my collection 24 hrs as of writing this but it was the reason I thought of doing this top 5 list. It's great we got this figure, never thought we would, really looks the business. Right up there as one of the best BAF's. When Mattel moved from suited figures for the BAF's with the British Bulldog and Virgil I thought that was tremendous, gutted they are doing suited ones for the upcoming Survivor Series set BAF as well as the wave 4 of the MNW figures but this Disciple one is a great choice. If there is a wave 5, be great if  the BAF was not  a referee (unless Nick Patrick or another WCW one) or suited figure.
