Various News/opinions

This week Mattel Creations put up for sale the new Legends of the Territory Era 4 pack. This features 'Superstar' Billy Graham, 'Handsome' Harley Race. Muhammad Ali and Gorilla Monsoon. We have an influx in different lines, of Ali in recent months, I guess this is for them to get out as many as they can before the deal WWE/Mattel have with his estate expires but, although, people could be purchasing these for various reasons, the first time in the line belts, which are the WWWF belt with Graham and the NWA 'dome' title with Race or Graham/Race in those attires, some may even want Monsoon in wrestling gear as his only previous figure from Mattel was in his announcer attire, a very nice, sought after figure but I am guessing, there's not many who have bought this set thinking the Ali is a 'must have', if I am wrong, let me know. When i first saw the set I was thinking I would keep Race/Graham with the belts and sell the other two, now, I may keep the Monsoon too, I would make Ali available for sale/trade but I can't imagine there would be much interest him, as readers of this blog, you have first dibs, if you're interested in buying him from me, get in touch.

So, people may be saying they wish Ali wouldn't have been in this set and maybe put someone else in, a new character or one we have not had many time before, I mentioned earlier, we have had Monsoon once before and it's the same for Graham/Race (the Race figure was re released in the 'Greatest Hits' series but it was the same figure) but with Ali, Steve Ozer of Mattel recently said in an interview, we wouldn't have Graham/Race/Monsoon and those belts at this point at least, IF, they were not putting this Ali out, the set was created around him so, without him, we may not have the others.

There is no plan to do any more in this line, as far as a box set, of course, we will always get legends in the Legends line or the regular Elite line but as a box set, there are no plans but Steve did say, if this set sells stupidly well then they may look at doing something similar going forward.

I am not getting anything out of this but I'll share the link here, if you want to order it, click THIS link to do so, in closing on this, I think it's a good price for 4 figures and let's not forget, those wonderful belts.

Sticking with the interview with Steve (watch it in full HERE by the way) he was asked about the failed Nitro stage and would there be a chance going forward for there to be a chance to get it, especially now that Nitro ring with UE Eric Bischoff has been released but he said it wouldn't be imminent if at all. The guys doing the interview thought that the tooling may be there as that prototype was shown but Steve said that it wasn't, that's what the crowd funding was about, raise the funds to pay for the tooling, the prototype that was shown was actually created on a 3D printer which is wild but more surprisingly for me was hearing him say that the figures shown with the stage were all created on a 3D printer too, this may have been out there before but i had not heard it. Also, reading between the lines, it looks like WWE maybe intalks with Jesse 'The Body' Ventura and if a deal is done that should mean we can get Ventura figures in the Mattel line. I recall figures of him in the JAKKS line and I am sure Mattel could do a great job creating figures of him, let's see what happens. I won't say anymore, watch the interview for yourselves for everything covered. One last thing concerning Steve, he did a great interview with good brother Justin of Wrestling Figure News, I highly recommend that one, give it a listen HERE.

We have the first two waves of the Monday NightWars figures, overall, I am pretty content with them, if you follow me on social media, you will know I had issues with my Triple H, more so the hair line, there was a gap between his hair and forehead. I could've worked on it and removed it and glued it back on but to be honest, I think there are more suited heads and on mine, I have used one of the spare heads from the first Triple H UE figure and I think it's more suited, I'll post a picture below.

There are people in the US that don't have the second wave yet, we have done well here in the UK, we were expecting them from May 15th onwards but Smyths (who have an exclusive deal to distribute them in the UK) got them in a bit earlier and now we have them in hand. We know what's coming in the third wave but they come with chases too, these will be Harlem Heat, normally I order my figures from Smyths online but as there are chases I will have to visit the store and hope for the best or, one of you wonderful people may see them in store and pick them up for me when they hit the shelves.

Sticking with the MNW figures, in one of the interviews with Steve Ozer he did say there would be a 'Best of' MNW set in the future, these won't be a best of figures that come out in this line but 4 figures that have previously been released in other various Mattel lines and one he announced that will be in the set will be the Best of Attitude Era Triple H, pictured below, I have this already, I'll be surprised if I don't have the other 3 too but one thing I don't know is with they add BAF parts with each one to give us another figure?

What I don't have, as of writing this, is the first two MNW UE figures, these are Bret 'Hitman' Hart which is pretty much a UE version of his Defining Moments figure from way back based on his look from the 1997 Survivor Series where some people think he was screwed, I do not but that is a different type of blog. Also released with the Hart is a WCW Piper from around a similar time, from the moment this was first shown I was hoping it was coming out straight away, it looks SO good, I am hoping very soon I will get some good news that these are on the way to me. I was gutted that when it was announced Smyths would have the exclusive deal for the MNW Elites that I found out that they would not be carrying the Ultimates. As I said, hopefully soon I will hear about if I am getting them. The second wave of the UE's will be Mankind & Eddie Guerrero, they don't excite me as much as Bret/Piper but I will endeavor to pick them up (I have them pre ordered with the Whole Shebang). Not heard what will be in the third wave yet, who would you like to see from the MNW time, one from each

Other Ultimates that are out but yet to reach WrestleFigsUK HQ are Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. The Owens is apparently shorter than it should be  which is a shame. The gear on the figures of both Owens & Zayn, is not accurate from what they wore at Wrestle Mania 39 (which these figures are based on) but I have purchased some decals to be added to the figures when I get them. For those of you who do have these figures already because I know there's a few who have them here in the UK, or if you're reading from over in the US, what do you think of how the 3 figures have turned out?  I have received the UE Yokozuna's, yes, there's two, nothing to write home about but hey, what you going to do, I collect all male UE figures* so I had to pick them up.

*I don't pick up the re released UE's but DID pick up the nWo re released Hogan because with the different skin tone for me, makes it a different figure enough to purchase it as opposed to the others who pretty much just have the butterfly joints added, which for me who displays the figures isn't bothered by that as you'd be none the wiser while they're on the shelves.
