Top 10 Mattel nWo Figures

 

Welcome all, it's been a while. I am going to go with another list today and as you can see by the title, it's Elite/Ultimate Edition style nWo related figures released by Mattel, nothing is out of bounds, as in, original nWo, Wolfpac or WWE's version of the nWo.

There is a lot to choose from so it won't be easy, please, after reading my list, please send me yours.
I have made a list of them seperately and I have all on my list except 3, one of those 3 is on it's way to me but to be honest, I don't think they will make my list of 10 anyway.
10 Hulk Hogan (WM Series Elite)
 

This is the most recent figure on the list, it's a good figure, from that amazing moment of when he faced The Rock at WM X8. Like a lot of Hogan figures, it has a number of faults, skin tone, actual body use, headscan even and something, that really irks me, the glasses, they are an odd shape to me, unlike the ones that are with the UE version. Had a debate with someone on a facebook group over these glass, tried to tell me they were the same, they are not.
09 Kevin Nash (Elite Series 16)
 
 
From the neck down, this figure is outstanding, wondering if/when this will be re-released with an updated head scan or even as an UE figure. The only reason this isn't higher in the list is the head scan it comes with, I know when this came out way back when, the technology wasn't as advanced as it is now but I can only judge the figures on how they look without being customised, more on that further on in the list.
08 Scott Hall (RSC Exclusive Elite)
 

 
Like with the Nash above, I wasn't collecting Mattel figures when this was released but when I saw it, I thought it was really cool and tried to hunt it down which of course, I eventually did. Really good figure this one.
07 Kevin Nash (RSC Wolfpac Exclusive)
 
 
Very good figure, would be higher in the list if it wasn't for the head scan, never been a fan of the ponytail Nash scans. I have had this figure twice, the first time I had the figure I did swap the head with one off a basic which looked a lot like (maybe slightly different coloured hair) the one that was on the Elite 16 figure. However, I was offered a trade for a figure I really wanted which when you see it available, it's not cheap so I did the deal knowing I had more of a chance of getting this Nash more freely, which I did, but this time, I have kept the original head scan on it.
06 X-Pac (Fan Takeover Elite)
 
 
Real big fan of this figure, I think it's my favourite X-Pac/Syxx/123 Kid figure. Based around 2002 when the nWo came into the WWE, it was originally, Hall, Nash & Hogan and Pac came in at a later date and joined up with his old Kliq buddies Hall/Nash after Hogan had been kicked out of the group.

05 'Macho Man' Randy Savage (RSC Exclusive)
 
So, this pretty much got a re-release as an UE figure and most people would probably put the UE in over this one but I just prefer this one, it may have a rubber shirt whereas the UE has two cloth ones, but they just are not too great on the sleeves for me, I did at one point take the rubber shirt off and replace it with the second cloth one but I have switched them back.
04 Sting (RSC Wolfpac Exclusive)
 
 
This one looks great in any collection, Sting as part of the Wolfpac and in figure form, really does look great, the red face paint really pops. I often see online people trying to hunt this one down and that doesn't surprise me at all.
03 Hulk Hogan (RSC Wolfpac Exclusive) 
 
 
As far as RSC exclusive figures go, this has to be right up there as one of the best, love this figure, it really is amazing. Looking at my past pieces on this blog site, this wasn't out when I did my only, so far, Hogan list, that was a top 5, in fact, looking at that list in retrospect, that 5 will be very different, if I didn't a top 5 now, 5 down to 2 would be all diferent I think. If you collect Hogan or nWo figures, I guess you have this one, if not, try and grab it, it's great.
02 Kevin Nash (Legend Series 12)
 
 
By far, this is the best Kevin Nash figure, unlike previous figures of his, this one has had the True FX technology used for the head scan. Outfit wise, it's quite similar, but different enough to the RSC exclusive one but this one has an added cloth Outsiders shirt.
01 Hulk Hogan (Ultimate Edition)
 
 
Followers of mine will not be surprised this one is at number one, this figure is truly outstanding. Massive fan of this, it's the top Hogan figure, the top Ultimate Edition figure and of course, the top nWo figure in the Mattel line, for me.

The March 6th RSC Reveals

So, we were given the heads up there was going to be an announcement from Ringside Collectibles on 6/3, rumours/guesses were being thrown around on social media, we knew RSC were getting an Outsiders Ultimate Edition pack exclusive to them so initially I thought it had to be full images and pre order info for them. After talking to others, it was mentioned maybe it could be the next set of Defining Moments figures, either way, I thought it was one of these two sets. Come time for the reveal and, well, I was a bit letdown. What we got was a reveal of  more re-releases, yes, they may have updated articulation, pinless arms etc and some updated face scan technology but in essence, they are the same figures we have had before. International collectors to lose out?

There is still time, it may change but very shortly the Mattel Creations 'Coliseum Collections' Hart Foundation is due to go up for sale on the MC website, however, anyone outside the US, definitely here in the UK anyway, will not be able to order it. We haven't had an issue in the past but this was spotted by someone a few weeks ago and as of typing this, the statement which you can see below is still on their website. We all like to moan but I think international customers do get the short end of the stick. There's plenty of store exclusives that are stores that are only in the US so, if we want them have to pay over the odds to independent sellers as they have to get them imported in.  People buy from the likes of Ringside Collectibles directly and pay a premium on the shipping charges to do so when Mattel creations brought out their exclusives it was great that we could order direct from them for a shipping cost that was quite reasonable but now, well, we, as it sta...

Target (Argos in the UK) NXT Exclusives

Welcome all, I hope you're all well. The grind continues, today I’ll be taking a look at the NXT series of figures that were exclusive to Target in the US but in the UK surprisngly they were available in Argos, it's a shame they didn't do that with other US exclusives because if they had of, we'd have saved a pretty penny over the years. So, the first series consisted of 4 figures, I own 2 of the 4, still want No Way Jose, passed on him so many times but wish I hadn't.
