Ultimate Edition’s: More Chat

Hi all, I thought I'd write about the Ultimate Editions again. For those of you that recall, I collect all the male UE figures and have most that have been released so far, I am waiting for the Hogan/Zeus set, really am fretting over them tbh, they were San Diego Comic Con exclusives and I am buying from a US seller - Wrestling Collector Shop. I have never dealt with them before and heard mixed reviews if I am being honest. Cost me a decent bit of money, they say they will have them in the "fall" of course, for us here in the UK that's the autumn. I hope of course they arrive; we shall see.

The most recent UE releases are series 15, they are a Wrestle Mania VII Ultimate Warrior (his third UE figure) and a current look Brock Lesnar (his second UE figure). Really looking forward to the Warrior one, from the reviews I have seen looks like a big improvement on the last Warrior UE one, the Amazon Fan Takeover one based on his WM VI match. Like with the new UE 15 one, it came with a spare head with the face paint off, the problem with that one was the chest paint of course was still on there. Also, the Fan Takeover one had a head with no face paint but with hair that makes it look like it's the start of the match rather than the end. They have addressed this issue with the WMVII one as the hair on the post match head is flat. as stated, really looking forward to getting this one from the good people at Wrestling Trader.

Just in the last couple of the days I received UE 14 from WT, it was another Jeff Hardy, his third I think and the first Roman Reigns. Neither is mind-blowing really but you're going to get some I suppose that you're not over excited with.

UE 16 will see AJ Styles make his debut in the UE line, not sure as to who will be the other in the set as of writing this. Could be a good release, Styles, looking forward to it. I know we have had plenty of AJ's in the Elite lines and I do like the old school guys being in the UE line but this Styles could be a good one.

There's going to be morse store exclusive UE's, Target again will get the privilege of Bret 'Hitman' Hart, this will be his second UE and I have to admit, I wasn't a fan of the first so I hope this next one is an improvement. They will also get The Rock, this will be his third after the very sort after first one based on the Attitude Era time of The Rock and his second one was more based on his return look when he came back to face John Cena at one of the Wrestle Mania's.

We do know one figure that will be included in series 17 and that will be Jeff Jarrett which looks to be based on his cowboy look of 1995/96 in the WWF. This will be the first ever Mattel/WWE figure if no other comes out before.

There are others that have been announced, even pictured, that are coming out in the future, these include som LJN inspired ones that will come out in packaging which will also don the Coliseum Video logo. this will see ANOTHER Hulk Hogan and Terry Funk which remarkably resembles his Elite figure from an early Legends series complete with cowboy hat, branding iron, chaps and poncho. will talk more about the UE Hogan's shortly.

San Diego Comic Con will always have some sort of WWE/Mattel exclusive figure, over the years these have been Elite style, I have most of these but still need Isaac Yankem DDS so if you have one available, get in touch. In 2021, the SDCC exclusive was an UE for the first time and this time was Sgt. Slaughter and it was a Chase figure too, the figures I believe are the same it was just the packaging that was different colourwise so I have just one as I am a loose collector so no need for both if the figures are exactly the same.

Many of us have the Mattel Creations New Generation ring which came with exclusive UE figures of Diesel and Doink and to follow, Macho Man Randy Savage (some have recieved theirs, I've not even recieved a shipping notice). MC will be releasing another UE exclusively through them and this will be the American Nightmare Cody Rhodes, this is due out sometime in 2023.

I said earlier I would talk more about the Hulk Hogan UE figures, he tops the list of characters with the most releases, his first was the Hollywood Hogan one and it's outstanding, I think it is still my favourite UE figure. He has also had one based on his look from Wrestle Mania I, only downside is the classic 85 WWF title he comes with has WWE on it, this is not unique to this belt but it seems to stand out more. Hogan also got the Amazon Fan Takeover treatment, fans had the chance to vote, apparently, on which look they wanted this figure to have and it was the look he had at Wrestle Mania IX, complete with a spare head that donned a nice black eye, very nice touch I have to say. There are two variations of this figure and again, for a loose collector, it matters not because the only difference is that in the package there is one with the bandana on the his head and one where it is just placed to the side.

Of course there is No Holds Barred set (comes with Zeus) that I spoke about at the start, fingers crossed I end up getting it delivered. There's no more announced so far apart from the LJN inspired one which you can see pictured. I am sure there will be more, I personally don't have a problem with more Hogan's tbh, I would like more old school wrestlers in the line but would welcome more Hogan's hopefully not exclusives though to US stores, SDCC or Mattel Creations. It seems Amazon exclusives are done with the recent Goldberg figure, I have not heard if Fan Takeover ones are done, I hope so.

What is your favourite Ultimate Edition figure? Feel free to hit me up with a top on twitter (links at the end). So guys, that's it, please, if there are any glaring mistakes regarding the information I have put into this blog, please let me know and I will adjust it accordingly.
