The Hall of Champions Elite Line

Welcome, I have decided now to take a look at the Hall of Champions, Elite line, there were some basics released in double packs but I am going to focus on the Elites.

There were 3 series, all consisted of 4 figures each. I have some of these figures in my collection but not all, I'll talk about this as I go on.

Series 1 consisted of Batista, Eddie Guerrero, Rikishi & The Undertaker.

Batista is based on his match with Triple H from Wrestle Mania 21 and comes with the big gold belt, contract and pen. Theres a decent number of Batista figures on the market and for me, this is one of the better ones and I do have it in my collection.

Eddie Guerrero was a great figure, based on his 1995 look from his WCW days, it came with the cruiserweight title and a stand to use to pose the figure. I knew when I saw this I had to get it.

The Rikishi figure is one I don't have, I do have a figure of his but not this one. This one comes with a black robe and oval IC title belt, it is based around his look in 2000.

And the last one of this series was the Undertaker, I do have this one, it came with a tag team title belt and is based on his run with Big Show as his partner in 1999.

Series 2 again had 4 figures and the only series I completed. in this one we had a Kane with the attitude era winged eagle title belt and this is one of the figures that those who get annoyed of re-releases as it brings down the value of other figures. It is pretty much the same figure that was released in Elite series 12. A figure I never got so was glad when this one came out. It's not identical but is very similar. It is based around King Of The Ring 1998 where kane won the title from Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Another must have figure for me when I saw it was announced was a WCW version of Ron Simmons, he had only had one Elite previously I believe and that was an APA one, which I don't own and even if i did, I still would've got this one. Without reading up on it, i'd say it's based around his 1992 WCW title win against Big Van Vader and yes, for the first time in the Mattel line we got the WCW world title. Now, for me, it's slightly too small, i put that online once in a forum or on a facebook page only to be told we should be lucky we have a WCW world title, well, sorry for having an opinion.

And the final two figures in this series were D.I.Y. and they are Tomasso Ciampa & Johnny Gargano. These were their first figures in the Elite line and as guys which I had seen many times on the indies I knew I was getting these. They come with the NXT tag titles, not the nice ones that came with the Authors Of Pain in a later Elite line but the ones from around the time of NXT Takeover Toronto where D.I.Y. defeated The Revival. In retrospect, they are not great figures, seem a bit on the small side and subsequetly, they have had better figures released.

The third and final series, I only own one, on to that shortly, so in this one we got a Paul Bearer figure, I didn't go for this one as I have a PB figure, it was a BAF (Build A Figure) where all the parts came with a series of basics, I was lucky to get that figure without having to get the basics, I am happy now that when they do BAF releases they are with Elites, one because I may actually get all the figures in the series and if not there's more of a chance of others getting the Elites be that 1, 2, 3 or all of them and we can pick the parts up of others like I did with the most recent Paul Ellering one. Anyway, this Paul Bearer had a different headscan to the BAF one so it was slightly different but again, as I had the other one I wasn't getting this one.

The set also included the New Age Outlaws which were great figures, especially the Billy Gunn but again, I did have the earlier Elite figures of these two so opted not to pick them up, if I do seem them come up at a decent price though I will try and grab them.

The final figure in this series was an Ultimate Warrior and it is so good, everyone should have it in thier collection but I know that isn't possible. There was a sort of variation on this figure, not sure if it was classed as a chase figure but one had the Warrior logo twice on the trunks and the more hard to find one had three. As you can see in the picture of the figure he has a yellow winged eagle belt but when the figure released it was a white strapped one.

So that was it for the Elite Hall of Champions figures, not many series and not that many figures really. What, if any, did you have, what is your favourite and what would you like to get your hands on if possible?
