A look at Scott Hall/Razor Ramon Elite Figures

Image
We have recently seen the unfortunate passing of Scott Hall and while WWE have had their deal with Mattel, there have been numerous figures released in the Elite style line of Hall under that guise and his previous one of Razor Ramon so lets have a look at what has been released. One of the earliest ones was Defining Moments one of Razor Ramon. Decked out in purple and it came with the Intercontinental title, it's a very nice figure overall, and it's based on the look he had when he teamed with Ric Flair to take on Randy Savage & Mr. Perfect at Survivor Series 1992. Another early one was a Ringside Exclusive one and it was as Hall from the WCW days as one of the 'Outsiders'. Has the same head scan as the previous release but as it is a WCW one based on his second stint, he is decked out in the black and white. It comes with an entrance vest and sleeveless nWo shirt, rubber of course. In Elite series 51 we had another Hall figure from WCW and this time in was the bla...

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts Mattel Elite Figures

Image
Hello all, on previous blogs I have written about how Mattel have released Jake 'The Snake' Roberts figures, not once but twice in the Legends line since they brought it back, and that meant 4 figures, yes, Jake had numerous attires throughout his career so you can sort of see why they chose to release multiple Roberts figures.   Legends Series 2   On this blog I will talk about the ones throughout their licence they have released in Elite form of Jake. The first one was in the original Legends run, in fact it was Legends series 2, as you can see by the picture, it literally was fire, a brilliant figure.   All-Stars The next release I believe was in the All-Stars range which saw Jake come in a 2 pack along with Randy Orton. When the Flashback line was going, we got a different type of Roberts, it was based on his look from King Of The Ring 96 when he faced Steve Austin, you know, the famous "Austin 3:16" speech. A very different Jake from what we h...

Looking at the Most Recent WWE/Mattel Reveals

Image
A bit late but I thought I'd write about the new reveals. As always, I look for images of the forthcoming Legends series and I must say, I am not overly impressed. I just don't think they are really going down the 'legends' route, I know they can only produce figures of people who are under legends contracts but still, there have been some questionable releases in previous series not just these new ones. For example, since the Legends returned with series 7, taking into account we are only up to series 13 in stores as it stands we have had Jake 'The Snake' Roberts release twice already (he was in the original run of Legends too) and that means 4 figures as both times we have had Roberts since they returned he has been the chase figure. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of Roberts' figures, I have all 7 that have been released in Elite form but I just think it's lazy on their part. Anyway, rant over, well that one. Onto the reve...

WWE/Mattel Collector Edition Figures

Image
Mattel/WWE have deals with stores over in the US to have exclusives just to them and also, in the Elite line of figures since series ...... they have had what they call a 'Collectors Edition' figure and so, in this piece, I want to discuss the various ones we've had over time, what my favourites and is there any I am after if you read my previous blog, you will know there is one I am after. I have a good number of the figures that fall under the collector edition subtitle but there's some I don't have. In this blog I'll talk about some of my favourite ones. One of the first that caused a stir in the figure collecting world was the Pete Dunne one, as it was a store exclusive in the US, UK collectors who really wanted the first figure of a top British guy over in NXT would struggle to get him, hell, there were many over there too that struggled to get him. Some of the prices on the likes of eBay were ridiculous but, people were paying it just to have the first fig...

Re-Release Figures?

Image
RSC SES Exclusive CM Punk   I  saw a discussion on twitter (follow me @WrestleFigsUK) where they were talking what figures would they want to see re-released as they missed out on them the first  time around or they weren't collecting when they were released. As I started collecting Mattel at around series 41 I missed out on a lot of early, great figures and have gone back and bought them at a ridiculous cost, most loose too, dread to think how it would've gone if I was a MOC collector. Although I don't collect for the resale value I have been against re-releases as it would affect values if I needed to sell in the future however, I have benefitted by it myself, most notably, Kane. I was never able to get the series 12 one but it was re-released (with minor differences) in the Hall of Champions line and even though it was a US store exclusive so had to pay more than the cost of a regular Elite or what the people over in the US itself would pay, it gave me the opportunity ...

Build-A-Figure's Revisted

Image
Credit to @WrestlingDaze Welcome back all but if it's your first time visiting the site, thanks for checking us out, I hope you'll be back.  A while back, I did a blog giving a history of sorts of the BAF (Build-A-Figures) but this time I want to revisit the line and talk a bit more in depth. I am a big fan of the line, I don't have them all, not by a long shot but I have some of the rarer ones which I'll get onto as we go along. I think the idea is a very good one from a business point of view, as many have the same or similar moulds as the majority of BAF's are figures in suits there's not much new tooling that is needed by the factory, maybe just for the heads. As some come with basic sets it's another way for Mattel to get collectors to buy basics which they probably wouldn't normally do, I have done this myself to try and get parts for a particular one, and I have to say, the basic figures I needed to do this were very expensive but the parts were...

Ringside Fest Figure Reveals Day 2 (29/10/21)

Image
Welcome back guys, thatnks to those who read my write up of day 1, please share that one and this on your social media channels, it would be much appreciated. So we had some good stuff revealed on day 1, I did see some comments saying it was undwhelming and I can see that but overall I  thought it was OK, if you want to watch the video of the reveals from the Ringside Collectibles site, click HERE . First off, Bill Miekina had samples of Elite series 90, started off with the Jay Uso, then the Mustafa Ali, Steve Ozer showed Reckoning in the package, indy fans may remember her as Mia Yim. Back to Bill, he showed a sample of Randy Orton in his white gear that he wore at the last Wrestle Mania. Bill then went on to show the Big Boss Man, it was towards the end of his run where he is slimmer, he also went on to show The Boss which was the same character but in WCW. I have to say, not overly blown away by these two, I do have the Boss Man from the original run, not sure if it's the origi...
